The World Food Programme provides food aid to families in Mokha, Taiz as part of its General Food Assistance program, which aims to support vulnerable Yemeni households. The number of people in need of humanitarian assistance in Yemen has continued to grow in recent years due to the ongoing conflict and the economic crisis. The conflict has displaced millions of people and destroyed critical infrastructure, making it difficult for people to access food and other essential goods. The economic crisis has also made it difficult for people to afford food, and the price of food has increased significantly. During this distribution cycle, the programme is providing a reduced food basket containing 50 kg of wheat, 3.5 kg of lentils, and 8 litres of vegetable oil.
اخبار ع النار-قال برنامج الأغذية العالمي، إن المساعدات الأسرية انخفضت في الضفة الغربية في فلسطين المحتلة إلى النصف بسبب نقص التمويل، مما أدى إلى توقف الدعم عن نحو 200 ألف شخص، في وقت تضاعفت فيه الاحتياجات خلال العامين الماضيين.
وأفادت مدير البرنامج في فلسطين شون هيوز، بأن “تصاعد عنف المستعمرين والعمليات العسكرية الإسرائيلية، إلى جانب الأزمة الاقتصادية وارتفاع البطالة، أدى إلى تفاقم انعدام الأمن الغذائي، مشيرا إلى أن ثلث سكان الضفة الغربية يكافحون لتلبية احتياجاتهم الأساسية.“
وأضاف أنه “في قطاع غزة تم خفض مساعداته النقدية لنحو (75) ألف أسرة خلال يوليو الماضي، محذرًا من أن ما يصل إلى (90%) من السكان قد يواجهون مستويات مرتفعة من انعدام الأمن الغذائي الحاد بنهاية العام إذا لم تستمر المساعدات الإنسانية.“
من جهتها، حذرت منظمة الصحة العالمية من احتمال وقوع أزمة صحية عامة في غزة خلال فصل الشتاء، في ظل تلوث المياه وتدهور خدمات الصرف الصحي، مشيرة إلى ارتفاع حالات الإسهال المائي الحاد من نحو (30) ألف حالة في مارس إلى أكثر من (58) ألفًا في أغسطس.
وأوضحت المنظمة أن أكثر من 6600 شخص يحتاجون إلى رعاية طويلة الأمد بعد بتر أطرافهم، فيما لم يحصل على أطراف صناعية حتى يوليو سوى 12% من المصابين منذ أكتوبر 2023، داعيةً إلى تسريع دخول المستلزمات الطبية والمخبرية والأطراف الصناعية، وضمان الوصول إلى المياه النظيفة وتحسين إدارة النفايات
